ISAIAH 29:13
Septuagint Reading Confirms
Matthew 15:8-9, etc. in APV

Isaiah 29:13 in the King James Version, which is based on the Masoretic Text, reads, “Wherefore the Lord said, ‘Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men….’”

However, in the Septuagint, the latter part of this verse reads, “…and in vain do they worship me teaching the commandments and doctrines of men,” which is consistent with Matthew 15:8-9, Mark 7:6-7, and Colossians 2:22. This is how it is rendered in this version.
